New Acumatica solution lets users switch between on-premise and SaaS
Updated: 2009-11-17
Accounting software provider Acumatica released a new enterprise resource planning solution for the cloud-based Windows Azure platform Tuesday that allows users to switch between on-premise and SaaS deployments as needs change.
The release includes web-based customization tools that allow customers to build their own reports and dashboards, modify workflows, change business logic and construct new modules. Users maintain customizations separately from the core software, so updates and upgrades make no impact their deployment.
"Our advanced financial features, customization features and deployment options allows our software to adapt to the way customers work, not the other way around," said Acumatica chief executive Ezequiel Steiner.
Developers said that the option of migrating between SaaS and on-premise deployments will allow users to take advantage of the lower maintenance and hardware costs of cloud computing while maintaining the customization capabilities of native software.
This new release joins a growing market as demand for cloud-based solutions increases. A recent study by technology research firm Gartner found that global revenues for SaaS-based services will grow 18 percent this year.
