PlanOn releases cloud-based mobile printing service for Blackberry

Business professionals who are constantly on the go now have one less excuse not to be able to work anytime, from anywhere, as PlanOn announced this week the release of its cloud-based print server application for Bluetooth-enabled Blackberry devices.
The application, which provides service through the company's PrintStik mobile printer, allows users to print full-page web pages and email attachments - including documents, spreadsheets, pdfs, presentations and photos - directly through the Blackberry, so users can have print capability from anywhere at any time.
The PrintStik mobile printer, which the company claims is "the world's smallest full page printer," comes with a self-contained roll of paper, rechargeable battery and embedded Bluetooth technology.
"Whether you're a 'road warrior' business traveler who needs to print your boarding pass while racing to the airport, a realtor printing the listing info en route to show a home, or a soccer mom printing the after-school game schedule, our Mobile Enhanced Print service gives you the ultimate in flexibility and convenience," said Doug Verkaik, CEO of PlanOn. "This in-the-cloud service adds a significant new dimension of mobility."
The subscription-based service also offers an enterprise license option for business users who are accessing sensitive or confidential information, so that the software can be installed within the company's firewall.
This announcement is the latest development in the rapidly growing cloud computing services sector, a market which is projected to reach a value of $14.8 billion by 2012, according to Compliance Research Group.
